Saksikanlah tutup balang yang dah berlubang tu. Didalam balang inilah pernah tersimpan kerepek pisang yang amat lazat. Nampaknya rezeki saya tak habis sebalang. Datanglah si cik siti dengan jayanya menebuk lubang dan membantu saya menghabiskan saki baki kerepek pisang dalam balang ini. Tak cukup dengan itu, kalau diperhatikan betul2 gambar ini, boleh kita nampak tompok-tompok hitam yang merupakan peninggalan isi perut tikus berkenaan yang dengan bongkaknya dipamerkan untuk tontonan saya.

Nampak gaya cik siti telah mula bermaharajalela. Syarikat 'pest control' tak datang service lagi bulan ni, dapat la korang joli... siap la nanti bila 'pest control' datang. Dengan murah hati la diorang tinggalkan makanan lazat untuk cik siti. Lepas makan.... hmmmmm... jalan terus.....

Ini dia reel DAM model HPN 630FD. Ni sebenarnya reel terbaru yang saya beli dan banyak digunakan untuk casting. Reel ni kecik jer sebab cita cita saya pun bukanlah nak tamak sangat tangkap ikan besar sangat pun. Saja suka suka nak casting time mancing. Joran yang saya guna untuk reel ini adalah ABU GARCIA ULTRA CAST II yang sepanjang enam kaki dan memang direka khas untuk casting. Bagi yang tak tahu dalam bahasa melayu casting tu dipanggil 'gewang'.

Ini pula reel veteran yang banyak berjasa kepada saya. Keluaran BANAX model SX3000. Reel ni banyak berjasa kepada saya di mana banyak rekod peribadi telah tercipta bersama reel ini. Antaranya ialah kejayaan menaikkan 7 ekor kerapu dalam masa 3 jam di Muara Sungai Kuala Ibai berhampiran Masjid Terapung Kuala Terengganu pada 2006(Malam tu syok makan ikan bakar..hahaha). Dengan reel ini jugalah saya berjaya menaikkan Toman pertama saya walaupun anak toman yang hanya berat beberapa ratus gram sahaja tapi gembira la juga bila pertama kali naikkan toman tasik kenyir. Banyak juga rezeki dengan reel ni termasuk berjaya menaikkan baung akar(Baung kuning) sebanyak beberapa ekor dalam sepetang yang menghasilkan pesta Baung masak Tempoyak pada keesokan harinya.

Reel ini diletak pada joran ABU GARCIA TOURNAMENT yang juga panjang enam kaki dan banyak saya gunakan setiap kali pergi memancing.

Inilah gambar dua senjata saya. Dulu ada banyak lagi Joran tapi banyak dah disedekah secara paksarela oleh kawan kawan, tapi yang dua ni kalau nak ambik, langkah mayat saya dulu la.... hahaha.

Tak lama lagi nak meninggalkan Kenyir untuk berhijrah ke tempat baru. Maka joran joran ini akan beraksi di medan perjuangan lain pula selepas ini. Niat di hati nak tambah satu lagi Joran dari Jenama UGLY STICK lepas ni kalau ada rezeki.....

Masalahnya satu je... hanya satu kedai kat Cameron je yang jual teh ini, kedai 88 yang berada di antara Blue Valley dengan Simpang Pulai. Jadi kalau nak cari stok, terpaksalah ke Cameron, jadi bila ada kat sana, terpaksalah beli stok berkotak kotak sebab takkan nak berulang ke Cameron tiap2 bulan.... hehe

Dapat Durian ni percuma pemberian dari sorang staff kat resort. Sebenarnya dapat tiga bijik tapi passing2 kat orang lain yang dua bijik lagi takut 'Blood Sugar' me'roket' naik kalau saya bedal tiga bijik durian sekaligus, kalu diikutkan sejarah lepas setakat tiga bijik tu sambil dok lepak2 pejam sebelah mata pon boleh 'langsai' sekejap je.

Tahun ni musim durian betul2 menjadi kat area kenyir ni. Di sepanjang perjalanan menuju ke tasik kenyirni merata rata boleh jumpa bangsal menjual durian di tepi jalan. Kalau ikutkan hawa nafsu, memang dah 'check-in' dalam hospital lagi sekali saya tahun ni. Tulah sebab control ayu jer bila nengok durian. Pandang sebelah mata je walaupun airlio tak berenti meleleh.....

Hidangan cuci mulut... pulut mangga yang sememangnya bagus untuk diabetes yang dihidapi oleh saya. Kalau Doktor saya tenguk pasti meletup. Pulut yang memang dia tak bagi makan. Atas pulut tu pulak diorang tabur gula.. waduhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Pastu pulak santan yang memang mempunyai kandungan kolesterol yang tinggi. Bagus untuk makhluk yang menghadapi masalah kadar kolesterol yang tinggi dalam darah macam saya ni....hahahahahaha

Hidangan utama malam ni pulak.... Nasi kerabu dengan ayam bakar. Banyak pulak nasi dia letak. Satu lagi hidangan yang gerenti akan menyebabkan doktor saya meletup......hhmmmmm

Terpanggil rasanya untuk membicarakan sesuatu yang berbeza hari ini...... kaitan antara teknologi moden terkini dan naluri manusia yang wujud sejak manusia pertama lagi. Kebelakangan ini banyak tersebar pelbagai video klip rakaman aksi aksi panas pemuda pemudi kita melalui telefon bimbit. Memang lumrah manusia dikuasai nafsu untuk melakukan aksi panas sedemikian, namun apa yang mendorong mereka untuk merakamkan aksi berkenaan menggunakan telefon bimbit mereka. Apakah sebabnya juga aksi aksi berkenaan diedarkan kepada seluruh pelusuk alam maya melalui penggunaan internet?.

Banyak klip rakaman video menggunakan telefon bimbit membabitkan pelajar sekolah, Pelajar IPT mahupun muda mudi telah tersebar. Yang menyedihkan lagi, pelajar sekolah siap berpakaian seragam tanpa segan silu beraksi seolah profesional di hadapan kamera.

Tidak kurang juga pembabitan gadis melayu siap bertudung. Malah

ada yang bertudung labuh pun terlibat.

Apa yang mendorong mereka untuk menjadi sebegitu berani. Tidakkah mereka takut akan

terbongkar kegiatan 'panas' mereka dan mereka akan menghadapi masalah?.Tidakkah mereka takut akan dikenakan tindakan yang akan menjejaskan masa depan mereka kelak.

Inilah sebenarnya harga kemajuan yang kita kecapi pada masa

kini. Dalam usaha mengejar status sebagai sebuah negara maju, maka batas tatasusila telah sewenangnya dilanggar. Sudah hilang norma masyarakat timur

dan kita telah menjadi lebih kebaratan berbanding masyarakat barat.

Mungkin satu hari nanti, pelbagai aksi lagi dasyat yang akan terdedah.

David Carradine Death Photos as Published By a Thai Newspaper

This image was obtained from a blog in wordpress and showed the image of a man hanging from a wardrobe. However the face is not shown and we are not sure whether it was actually david carradine or somebody else. And the body is not exactly like belonging to a 72 year old guy and the hair is black. either it was dyed or the picture belongs to somebody else. For sure it cannot be confirmed whose photo it is. But the Thai newspaper published it and claimed it belongs to David Carradine, of course they would not be so bold if it otherwise.

However one issue to ponder here is that whether they had permission or not to publish this photo in the first place. i mean, this could be quite sensitive in certain parts of the world and could be a source of legal difficulties.

Judge for yourself if this photo is true or not.

The Carpetbaggers ~ Harold Robbins

The two books that i'm currently reading. Actually i alternate between these two books depending on my mood. If i'm tired and just want some light reading i'll go for the Harold Robbins book but if i'm in for some serious reading i'll opt for the classic Leo Tolstoy book.

The carpetbaggers was the first novel in english that i actually read when i was twelve years old and it gave me the interestin reading till now. Found the book which belongs to my brother in the book cabinet at home at that time and was taken by reading ever since. The old copy is lost somewhere now and i bought this one last week. It's like revisiting a familiar place and seeing your old friends whenever you are reading a boom that you once read and the character of Jonas Cord which was actually based on the real live Howard Hughes still clearly exist in my mind.

Semalam sedang asyik menikmati kopi di sebelah pagi dan bersembang dengan seorang rakan, timbul satu isu yang menarik dibincangkan. Pandangan masyarakat terhadap wanita yang merokok. Teman berbual saya adalah seorang wanita dan beliau adalah juga seorang perokok yang menghabiskan satu bungkus rokok sehari. Dalam perbualan kami timbul isu berkaitan dengan pandangan masyarakat terhadap perokok wanita. Bagi beliau, tiada sebarang masalah kerana beliau dengan selamba menghisap rokok dikhalayak ramai dan tidak teragak agak untuk lepak di kedai mamak dengan rakan sekerja dan menghembus asap rokok.

Perbualan kami mula rancak berkaitan dengan seorang teman yang merupakan seorang wanita yang juga ibu kepada dua anak yang merokok secara sembunyi sembunyi kerana takut akan tanggapan negatif masyarakat terhadap beliau. Namun pada masa yang sama teman berkenaan tanpa segan silu akan meminta sebatang rokok dari kawan kawan lelaki bila dia keputusan stok. Adakah dia seorang yang hipokrit kerana satu kampung sudah heboh dan mengetahui bahawa dia adalah seorang perokok dan buat tak peduli sahaja. Namun dia masih berlakon seolah masih mahu menyembunyikan tabiat merokok beliau daripada pandangan masyarakat.

Persoalan sekarang adalah... adakah salah bagi seorang wanita untuk merokok dikhalayak ramai terutama sekali wanita timur? Mungkin ada yang berpendapat amat kurang menyenangkan sekali melihat seorang wanita merokok. Tapi mungkin ada yang tak kisah dan bagi merokok itu adalah hak masing masing. Bergantung kepada anda semua untuk meyuarakan pendapat masing masing.

Met this juvenile crawler yesterday while doing my rounds. It just froze there when it realises that I was heading towards the tree. So.. what else, just took the opportunity to snap this guy. Many could be found around this area and you wouldn't believe the size of some. Personally saw one which could be the size of a small crocodile earlier this month. The one in this picture is considered a small one in terms of size as compared to some of the one i saw.

Not exactly a romantic topic to post here. Haha. But just want to share nature's small wonders with you guys. I mean definitely us humans don't have the ability to climb trees the way these monitor lizards do. And certainly these guys can climb damn fast. Should see the way it just ran straight up when it saw me approaching near the tree. I mean one second it was there and the next second gone juat like that. Reminds me of a few girls that i used to approach... ahaks..

Last thursday was the first annivesary of the early demise of my late brother. He passed away one year ago at the still early age of 45. The above picture was taken in 1977 when he was a young lad of fourteen. I happened to have this in my possesion together with some old photos of myself and my mum and sis which was used in a border pass when we were visiting some relatives in southern Thailand. Found it safely kept by my father when I was going through some things after my father passed away.

Sometimes you just wished you could have more time with the people you love but in today's world you are always busy pursuing worldly desires and forget about appreciating your time with family and friends.... and when they are gone, you would always feel the empty space somewhere deep in your heart and a certain longing for them..

Dalam meniti kehidupan seharian, kadang kadang terfikir jua yang banyak berlaku pementasan wayang bangsawan secara "langsung" yang banyak dipersembahkan di hadapan mata kita. Ini terutama sekali dapat kita jumpa di pejabat di mana banyak kaki kipas yang dapat menjiwai watak sebagai pelakon utama dengan jayanya sekali.

Dan semestinya ini bukan pementasan main main bagi pelakon pelakon ini. Mereka dengan serius sekali membawa peranan masing masing demi untuk memastikan anugerah pelakon terbaik jatuh ke tangan mereka tahun ini. Dan yang anehnya, beberapa pelakon leleaki dan wanita sedang berebut rebut dalam mempamerkan diri mereka sebagai pelakon yang paling bagus. sedangkan mereka ini juga adalah kawan baik diantara mereka dan merupakan satu 'clique'. dalam masa yang sama mereka bersaing dengan amat hebat sekali. namun peementasan yang dianggap serius bagi mereka pula adalah merupakan sandiwara lawak jenaka yang tak mengeringkan gusi kepada penonton yang sentiasa mengikuti perkembangan drama swasta ini. dan tak kurang juga banyak senyuman sinis terlempar ke arah pelakon berkenaan yang nampaknya kurang menegerti sindirin sindiran serta kiasan yang agak menusuk kalbu yang terlempar ke arah mereka sekian hari. Pelakon ini semua masih lagi asyik di alam khayalan mereka yang amat meriah bagi diri mereka sendiri dan penuh dengan haruman kasturi hipokrasi.

Bak kata hikayat melayu... biarlah luncai terjun dengan labu labunya... biarkan mereka meneruskan lakonan bangsawan mereka yang semestinyasatu hari nanti bakal memakan diri sendiri.... begitulah kalau anak kecil main api... nanti terbakar dirinya sendiri......

The 'Puteri Lilin' Gang

Had dinner in Pantai Kelulut last few days with the Puteri Lilin gang. Was actually dragged by them and without much protest i volunteered to be the official 'Bapak Ayam' that nite as there was 4 of the ladies and myself was the only guy during that outing. It's quite a scene also as after the food arrived they were quite busy posing with the food and everybody was looking at our table. Also there were quite some envious stares from other guys at me as the 4 ladies walked behind me all the way to the table. I was tempted to say all 4 of them were my wives and wouldn't that be a nasty suprise to all the guys staring at us...hahaha

All in all, it was a satisfying dinner as we managed to knock off one kilo of kerang bakar, one pari bakar, one siakap steam, one ' ayam laut' bakar berempah and also sotong celup tepung. you never guess looking at their petite sizes (except for only one chubby sized, but pls don't tell her that i called her chubby... mampos aku kena pukul dgn dia) that these girls really can wallop.

Went for a relaxing few days in Cameron and above is the proof..hehehe.. unfortunately this is the only photo of myself in Cameron... i really missed this Cameron.. my fav domestic vacation place. having been born and bred byt the seaside, i tend to runaway from the vacationing by the beach. preferred hte highlands nowadays. of coz the jungle is out of the question also as now has been working in the jungle for 2 1/2 years and quite used to the jungle environment. need something relaxing and cooling and where else but cameron is the best spot. first went there in 1994 and till now, i cannot recall allready how many times i have been there. but always it's either Rosa Pasadena Hotel or Strawberry Park Resort. Have been eyeing the Cameron Highlands Resort runned by YTL Hotels but that property is a little over the budget for me now. Maybe next time though. Another property of YTL of which i liked is the Tanjong Jara Resort, went there for one night a few weeks ago but i forgot to take photo's, but let me tell you one thing. it's worth every cent that you paid for. the room is fantastic, and kudos also to the Housekeeper, He/she managed to have the room spotless and to think of the challenge of being a seaside resort. Mind you, it's very seldom for me to praise resort/hotel housekeepers as being in the Rooms division myself, i tend to be more critical of Housekeeping and always try to find any weaknessses.

The other photos above are of the scenery from the Boh Plantation and also flora and fauna found in Cameron. It seems that those few days is not enough for me. Maybe sometime soon, i'll be making another visit.

This song by Nirvana has always been my fav amongst all since so many years ago. The main reason is the symbolism of hurt and anguish felt by Cobain of the trusted people surrounding him which are using him for their own interest.

Sometimes I also felt the same. Some friends continously use you for their own purposes. What hurts some more is that this friend is also a close one. And for that persons interest, i felt like i'm continously being used again and again and again. I mean, I have nothing to gain by helping this person. In fact, by helping this person... it's like slowly hurting my soul due to what has happened in the past. But ... dunno la dudes, it's difficult to turn down a person's request for help and assistance. That being the person that i am. But can't this person stop and look around for a while... can't this person see what he/she is doing is victimising me as a friend to do something that is hurting me also. Does this person have any heart to spare to see me in this state of health to force myself some more to help. To plead with me... i mean.. who is going to help me then after this because definitely i would be forgotten.................

At the end of the day... you would only require a friend like me when you are in need...... what about me..... to be left to rot like a decaying piece of rag..... Rape me my friend...... again and again..........................

This was prescribed by the the doctor, a special milk for diabetecs to replace rice. Just one glass is enough to replace all the nutrients in a plate of rice minus the sugar content.

This was not eaten by me but the chef who wallop this plate of Nasi Kerabu Daging Bakar in front of me. Make my mouth watery you know...hahahahaha

1. Pipi Tembam

haha.... dari dulu aku akan tergoda dengan wanita yang pipi tembam. Ex aku dulu semuanya pipi gerenti tembam. Even ex fiance aku cakap dulu, kalau aku curang pon mesti pompuan tu pipi tembam. Tapi yang kantoi dia pulak yang curang.... hahaha

2. Kuat semangat

10 Langkah Anti Israel saya

Ini adalah resolusi diri saya dalam usaha kerdil diri saya untuk menyokong perjuangan rakyat palestin.

1. Berhenti kunjungi Restoren dari US seperti Starbucks, KFC dan McDonalds. Kita masih banyak lagi pilihan dan seeloknya lagi kita menyokong perniagaan rakyat malaysia seperti Station Kopitiam dan pelbagai restoren tempatan yang sudah tumbuh macam cendawan sekarang.

2. Menukar jenama rokok. Saya sudah berhenti membeli Marlboro Lights dan sudah tukar jenama rokok kepada Mild Seven Lights(Jenama yang berasal dari Jepun).

3. Berhenti minum Coke dan Pepsi. Lagipun memang sudah lama saya tidak mengamalkan minuman berkarbonat yang mempunyai kandungan gula yang tinggi demi untuk kesihatan diri. Pelbagai minuman lain masih lagi dapat dibeli di semua kedai runcit serta pasaraya yang dikeluarkan oleh pengeluar tempatan.

4. Memanjangkan segala email tentang penderitaan rakyat Palestin yang diterima kepada rakan sekerja serta kenalan yang terdapat dalam address book saya.

5. Memanjangkan kempen memboikot barangan US serta syarikat yang mempunyai kepentingan Yahudi kepada kawan kawan saya yang lain.

6. Menyertai kempen online menentang keganasan Yahudi dan juga menyertai ahli pelbagai kumpulan anti Israel di dalam alam maya.

7. Tidak lagi menjejak kaki ke Hotel yang diuruskan oleh Syarikat US seperti Hilton dan Ritz Carlton demi untuk tidak menyokong Syarikat dari US.

8. Sentiasa mengingatkan kawan kawan akan kempen anti Israel di dalam perbualan harian.

9. Menderma setakat mana yang mampu kepada tabung rakyat Palestin.

10. Menggunakan blog ini sebagai salah satu saluran penyedaran akan usaha membantu rakyat Palestin.

Yours Truly Saying A few Words

A farewell dinner was held to bid goodbye to our GM who has opted to end his contract and pursue his career at a much greener pasture at Ibai Golf and Country Club aka Tuanku Mizan Golf Club last nite(23rd December 2008). We had our dinner session at a private room enjoying a nine course chinese set dinner. All the Department heads of the resort was present in the informal dinner that nite.

Among the items savoured during the dinner was a 4 seasons hot and cold dish which serves spring rolls, calamari, prawns and mussels.

Second course was Sharkfin soup with crabmeat. It was just perfect and no need to add vinegar as sometimes you have to at some Restaurants.

Then come the Butter prawns which was nice also. And scallops in noodle basket. Now. this item i savoured with gusto also as it's damn expensive and not often you would find it served. We also had Free Range Kampung Chicken served in herbal soup which was marvellous. We also had Sweet and Sour Garoupa. For vege we had Siew pak Choy with Black Mushrooms in Oyster sauce. Second last was seafood fried rice and lastly followed by fruit cocktail for dessert.

After the dinner we had a karaoke session. The dinner lasted until midnight when we broke off and made our way back to the jungle again. All in all, it was a nice and enjoyable dinner and luckily they could not persuade me to sing or else it would be raining all the way back.

Guess who i had lunch with today. Well, no other than the famous host of Jalan Jalan Cari Makan, Maria Tg. Sabri of course. She's here at the resort shooting for the ZOOM programme for Tourism Malaysia.

A very nice lady who is very approachable, it's very easy to entertain her unlike some others who are quite difficult. She's very nice in person and that makes my job a whole lot easier and the whole production crew was also very cooperative. Well, half of the day today was sppent with them shooting around the resort and i only managed to sit down at the office after lunch. It was worth all the effort though.

Gua Bewah

This is when i visited Gua Bewah in 2006. Gua Bewah is located in Taman Negara at the Terengganu side and are only accesible by boat. It is about 1 hours speed boat ride from Pengkalan Gawi.

Among the attractions in Gua Bewah are:-

Pre Historic People Excavation Site

The cave used to be home to humans more than 2000 yeras ago. Once you entered the cave, you can see a display area of the excavation and the history of the cave. There is an exhibition of some of the items found there.

Cave Racers

This is a species of snake which lived in caves. The snake feed on bats and they climb cave walls and catch bats flying near them. It is pure white and very rare. It is listed as an endangered species.

Luminous cockroach

There is a species of cockroach which emits a blue colored light at their tail when in the dark. It's not everytime that you can see this cockroach and it's very hard to find them.

It was one afternoon late 2006 and I had just finished lunch with a few others at the Restaurant. The whole afternoon we had suffered rain and it was not the best weather at all.

Just after lunch, saw this marvel right in front of my eyes. The rainbow was so close it seems it was just beyond my reach. Awestruck, that was the magic word. You just had to experience it yourself to understand how i felt that day. The picture quality is not that good, but just want to share it with you guys....

Dusk at Kuala Terengganu

This image was captured more than a year ago along the Terengganu River. I was with a few friends enjoying a night out in town and as usual we would have dinner at new places that we would like to try. The restaurant now ceased to exist already but the ambience there was nice. It was near a jetty where the fisherman parked their seagoing boats and sometimes we could watch them get ready to head out to sea.

This is one of the most tranquil places that i had been to and sometimes the magic moment come unexpected. The view was so captivating and it eases a lot of the knot which was haunting my mind at that time.

Just to share with you guys what i had experienced throughout my life. It might not be significant for you, but for me it was one of those moments that you would like to cherish forever in your memories.

What a day

Had an unexpected day today... or is it yesterday... started normally going to the office at 9 am... had the usual morning management meeting which lasted late due to a lot of arising issues until 11am. Then had a nightmare at the water intake processing plant when the main intake tank was leaking and had to scramble the maintenance guys to drain the tank and weld back the leaking area. That one took 6 hours to complete.

Also got a meeting in the afternnon but that one only lasted for 30 minutes but luckily i was not the one in the center of crisis and watched somebody else got the drubbing from the boss. The resort van broke down and had to go out at 5pm and search for a rental van.. found one after going to a few places and came back to the resort at 7pm +.

Had time for a glass of nescafe tarik but had to go check 14 rooms handed over by the contractor until nearly 11pm only finished. In the same time had numerous calls from regarding work till my HP battery is low.

Then went and had dinner until nearly 12. Was just sitting down and writing my report then received a report that a guest is sick. Escort the guest to the hospital and waited until the guest was discharged at 4.15am after receiving outpatient treatment. Reached the resort at 5.10 am and wrote a report till 5.45am. Then visit Jomlayan.com and kacau senahspeaker... haha... what the heck... had to record this day in my blog.. fuhhhhh... the end

The gathering was held at Mango Mania beside Hong Leong bank and everybody has something from the menu which had to do with manggo except for Muaz who wanted Orange Juice.. ngeh ngehBaiser also baked a nice chocolate cake for Cleo's b'day. All in all the gathering was a success and everybody had a nice time filled with laughter. Only cupin was unhappy bcoz wup could not make it.The gathering started around 2.30 melayu time and ended after 4.00pm

Hampess Version 1.1

8.33am - Received SMS from OCPD that he's coming to the resort at 11.30 am to see me.

11.30 am - OCPD arrived and had coffee with him and go through the normal pleasentries. Come the serius part on his original intention of coming to the resort? The CPO is coming to stay at the resort from 12-14th of this month.

Hampess... it was supposed to be the resort's management outing weekend and farewell to the Gm who is leaving us at the end of the month. We were supposed to drive to Cameron Highlands and had our farewell dinner there. All arrangements has been made and rooms has been booked. We were looking forward to this trip and made plans since early November. It was initially supposed to be last weekend but we postphoned the trip because of the TV show 'Sarapan Di Mana' wants to come and shoot at the resort... last minute they cancelled the trip... now this... i'm 'fenin' already... How la.. has to do this farewell you know... now this...

Well.... got to get the brain working and try other alternatives.. problem is.. the other weekend cannot go now due to other commitments.

Visited an old friend working in KL Hilton the other day. As he was working at the Japanese Restaurant (IKETERU), i decided to sample some of the dishes available there. The restaurant itself is divided to three areas which is the Teppanyaki, Sushi and ala-carte dining. For that day i decided to sit at the sushi bar and enjoy the offerings there. I was lucky enough to be introduced by my friend to Chef Voon, the Sushi Chef himself and luckier when my food was prepared by Chef Voon himself. Not everyday that you can indulge your palates by the master himself.

The picture above is one of the items that was prepared and reccomended by Chef Voon. It is 'Tuna with Momotaro tomatoes topped with Bonito Flakes in Special Sauce' The chilled tuna i don't have to describe because it's taste is perfect. The intersting part is that the Momotaro tamotoes are a species which originates from Japan but now are grown at Cameron Highlands. You have to eat the Tuna together with the tomatoes to get the full flavor of both. The bonito flakes adds crispiness to the dish. But the main factor which is the sauce which gives full flavor to the dish. Thumbs up for this one.

The dish above is created by Chef Voon and he presented this complimentary to me to try. It is 'Salmon wrapped over Cheese and Manggo'. My verdict. Delicious!. The flavors of the tuna mixed with the saltiness of the cheese and sweet taste of the manggo erupts the full flavors in your mouth at one shot. No soya sauce or wasabe for this one. It's supposed to be eaten on it's own.

This is my favorite dish wherever i go to a japanese restaurant. Unagi.. eels.. some of you mught not like this but for me.. i just love 'em. One of the best unagi dishes that i have ever tasted. Just the right combination of kikkoman and the other ingrediants that made this this perfect. How much does it cost? RM 58++. But worth every cent of it.

This is the main dish that i had at the restaurant that night. It's the sushi platter called 'Sansui'. I dont know what is Sansui and it's meaning in English, but this one really is nice. A combination of Tuna, Salmon, Calamari and i don't know what is the other two ingredients... haha.. forget to ask ... All the items is chilled, not frozen mind you and some are air flown from Japan. The cost of this dish.. simple as you might say.. RM 100 ++per platter

All in all this Restaurant is really a good place to wine and dine and worth every cent you spent.

SOHO

Went to Bangi the other day and was reccomended by a friend to makan makan at SOHO in Bangi. When I arrived at the place, the makcik has already arrived earlier and ordered Limau Suam and Tauhu Bakar. I shared the tauhu bakar and it actually tastes good with all the right flavour combined to make it one of the best that i have ever tasted. Still cannot beat the Tauhu Bakar at the old Food Court at Section 14 PJ(near the old Jaya Supermarket/below the parking ) though. That one was better.

We proceed to other dinner and the makcik ordered Nasi Goreng Kerabu and yours truly ordered Nasi Goreng SOHO. We also decided on Kerapu Bakar and Kerabu Perut. When the food arrived at an acceptable time after our order..(the service there is normal.. not fast and not too slow) we started to indulge ourselves with the food.

The Nasi Goreng Kerabu was nothing exceptional and the presentation was like any other 'TomYam Shop'. The taste is bordering to bland and nothing special about it. I would not reccomend that to anyone who wants to try this dish. Try others... not the Nasi Goreng Kerabu!

My dish was Nasi Goreng SOHO. In terms of Food Presentation, only one simple word... OUT.. no presentation at all. But wait!!!! the taste... it tastes like Nasi Goreng Maggi Mee Kari.. thats right.. the perencah kari of Maggi Mee.. the makcik tasted it and come to the same conclusion. For a signature dish which features the Restaurant's name... they use Maggi Mee perencah!!! The only thing which is positive about the dish was the four medium size udang that they put there.. i couln't the grade size but it's somewehere between small and medium grade. Other than that, nothing special about this supposed to be special dish...

The next thing we ordered was the Kerabu Perut... to keep things simple.. just one statement.... NO GOOD... don't order this.

Lastly.. the Ikan Bakar.. we choosed kerapu and guest what.. there was only one kerapu available at the Ikan Bakar Stall.. hampess... so, we had to take that one... and when the dish arrived... it was covered all over with rempah and Chinese Parsley as garnishing.. after shifting through all the debris, finnally we found the fish. Sad to say that the fish is not fresh.. the flesh is tasteless like it was in the cold room for five months and just came out from storage. However the rempah was good and it covers the bland taste of the fish.

Verdict for Ikan Bakar.. make sure the fish is fresh than only you order.

As for the price.. All of the above food plus four drinks.. RM 53.00... not money worth spent.

Kijang Meat

Got a nice suprise the other day. The chef came back from cuti yesterday and brought some 'Kijang meat' from his kampung. Now, how he got hold of the meat i don't know and i don't want to know. So yesterday, we had this 'kijang meat' for lunch yesterday. I had never tasted 'kijang' before.. wild deer meat i tasted a few times... but not 'kijang' and 'napoh'.

It was quite interesting the taste of the meat. It was tender and does not need any tenderiser. It was only fried with garam and kunyit but it was quite good. Was still juicy also. Not bad for my first taste.

My Vices

My two vices.... or is it sins... haha.. Nicotine and caffeine. Can't live without 'em. First thing in the morning has to layan a cuppa of fresh brewed roasted arabica with a few sticks of marlboro Lights. Been meaning to quit smoking but you know us smokers... never can trust our promises to either cut down or stop smoking.Even now, while writing this.. i'm enjoying a cup and a few sticks, puffing like na chimney to pollute the clean kenyir air. What the heck, it's too clean here anyway. The air i meant.. haha.

Biggest Catch

It happened more than two years ago... but, what the heck... i'm gonna brag about it nonetheless. This was the biggest fish that i had caught in my fishing career. Five kilograms of Belida. None that i had caught so far has beaten the record. This was caught in June 2006 at Sg. Mandak in Tasik Kenyir. That was before i migrated to Kenyir and worked here... ever since.. didn't have much time for fishing. Odd isn't it... i got more time to fish when i was working in the city compared to the time i'm working in fishing heaven.

Now, belida is a fish which has is full of those small tiny bones. The best way to eat this fish is by pouring hot water all over the body and then scraping the flesh with a fork. Then u mince the flesh and turn it into fishballs. What u want to do with the fishballs is up to you, i rather like it fried compared to steam. The flesh is white and tastes quite nice. If you want to cook it any other way, be prepared to fight with the bones, be careful though! you don't want to end up in the hospital with the bones sticking in your throat.

My Visit

Today the boss dragged me out to Besut for a visit to Bakawali House of Arts. This is a place where they made sculptures and traditional malay wood carvings from Cengal, Meranti and others. It was quite an experience as i saw intricate designs of wood carvings being made by local craftsman. It is definitely not an easy job and one small carving the size of only a few feet square con cost you thousands of ringgits depending on the type of wood and also the type of carving. Looking at it closely you would realise that this is serious stuff, and if it was given to my 'buta seni' hands... the woods would end up as 'Kayu Api'.... ngeh ngeh ngeh

I created another one and just wanted to do my best, but after I 'godek' the thing too much... it went crazy and i had some'fenin' time to rectify it back. What's the highlight of your day?

For me sometimes just sitting at the dining table and appreciating the food served is an experience which help smooth the rough edges that comes part and parcel with my daily work challenges. Though the Restaurant has a new menu just introduced early this month, the process of ordering can be quite an ordeal if you happens to live in a resort and eat at the same place day in day out. I was cracking my head just trying to figure out what to order, when i finally decided in Fried Yee Mee, my boss also ordered the same thing. To avoid being accused of being a copycat, a last minute decision was made in my mind to just change to Char Kuey Teow.

Well, any meal is as good as any and you don't expect Fine Dining quality food from a normal Restaurant, just eat what is available. Anyway, after working in the hospitality industry since 1996, everything tastes the same. You can see for yourself what i ate. Sorry about the picture quality, but the phone camera is a little bit blur since i dropped it last time.(Actually i dropped it twice allready).
